PROJECT 1
Budget Research Project – Students will research a career of their choice, purchase a house and a car, and complete a budget plan based on the income and expenditures incurred by the lifestyle they choose. Projects must include a one page written action plan and a double sided budget spreadsheet.
PROJECT 2
Stock Market Project – Students will compete in an investment game and be given the opportunity to invest $100,000 in the stock market. Students will compete against each other to achieve the greatest gains in the stock market. A Dutch Bros gift card will be given to the best investor. Each student will complete a company research log and invest in a minimum of five different stocks via howthemarketworks.com. The duration of the game will be six weeks. May the best investor win!
PROJECT 3
Business Entrepreneurs Project – Students will work individually or in teams to create a product or service and pilot a business. Students will present their business plan to a board of community business members to test the viability of each business and receive feedback from business leaders. Essentially, the project culminates in a "Shark Tank" simulation.
